About

Dr. Andy Tran is a founding partner of Peak Heart & Vascular and a board-certified cardiologist and cardiac electrophysiologist with over 15 years of experience. Widely recognized for his expertise and innovation in electrophysiology, he has performed more than 10,000 cardiac ablations and over 10,000 cardiac device implantations, including defibrillators, cardiac resynchronization devices, pacemakers, and loop recorders. In 2017, Dr. Tran performed the first transseptal puncture in an ambulatory surgery center setting and, in 2018, completed the first atrial fibrillation ablation in an ASC setting.

Dr. Tran completed his internal medicine residency at MCP Hahnemann University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, followed by a fellowship in cardiovascular disease at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, and a fellowship in electrophysiology at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan.

As a founding partner of Peak Heart & Vascular, Dr. Tran has helped expand access to advanced electrophysiology care across the Phoenix metropolitan area and northern Arizona. He collaborates closely with multidisciplinary teams to integrate cutting-edge technology and evidence-based treatments that improve outcomes for patients with a wide range of cardiac conditions.

Clinically, Dr. Tran has a special interest in catheter ablation of atrial fibrillation and other complex atrial and ventricular arrhythmias, including advanced pulsed field ablation using Farapulse and Varipulse technologies. He uses advanced diagnostic tools to correlate patient symptoms with underlying disease and tailors treatment plans to the individual. Patient safety and clear communication are central to his practice, and he ensures patients understand the risks and benefits of each therapy and procedure.

  • First physician to perform a transseptal puncture in an ambulatory surgery center setting (2017).
  • First physician to perform an atrial fibrillation ablation in an ambulatory surgery center setting (2018).

  • On time, always dedicated to the patient and always offering multiple options. In 20 years, the only times he’ wasn’t on time was when he had an emergency. I’ve had to interrupt his day with a true emergency before and I can’t convey enough that Dr. Tran is the guy to have looking after you with everything on the line.

  • This office is amazing. Dr. Mehta is the best.. I also see Dr Tran for my ICD and he is great also. I would recommend them to everyone.. I do wish the girls in the front office and check out side were a little friendlier.. people usually don't feel well when they go to the Dr, so smile and nice disposition would go a long way.. I mean no disrespect to anyone, just a heart patient that would like a people person to help me and those girls are not that. They are also very fast on prescription refills..

  • Peak Heart and vascular team is outstanding. All the staff is very professional. Doctor Tran is very pleasant and knowledgeable and he did perform my three previous surgeries, for my pacemaker, my defibrillator and an ablation. Doctor Tran was able to make the necessary settings on my defibrillator after I had two electric shocks. I want to thank him for his professionalism.
